I believe good counselling begins curiosity and the relationship between the two people in the room.
There is no one-size-fits-all approach and no expectation that you arrive knowing exactly what you need.
We start exactly where you are. Each session and each moment. The pace is set by you.
Together, we can gently explore whatever is most alive in you, what you’re experiencing now and what might be asking to be understood.
People are often incredibly resourceful. Sometimes experiences, relationships and circumstances can make it difficult to access those resources.
Counselling can provide a relationship where there is enough safety and space to become curious again.
To listen to yourself.
To notice what you need.
And perhaps to discover parts of yourself that have been waiting to be heard. Counselling with me is a collaborative process. We can take our time to understand what is happening for you, without rushing towards a solution.
My work draws on psychodynamic, trauma-informed and relational practice, with influences from humanists, Jungian and parts-based approaches, as well as a gentle openness to spirituality and transpersonal perspectives.
For me, this means making room for the whole person — thoughts, feelings, body, relationships, imagination, dreams, meaning and the things that can be difficult to put into words.
A little space for the deeper questions
If it is meaningful to you, our work can also include a gentle exploration of spirituality, meaning, intuition and transpersonal experiences.
There is no particular belief system attached to this.
It’s simply an acknowledgement that sometimes our experience of being human is bigger than thoughts and behaviours alone.
